Frequently Asked Questions

What is bacteriostatic water and what is it used for?

Bacteriostatic Water USP is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. It is used to dilute or reconstitute injectable medications, peptides, and other lyophilized compounds. Unlike regular sterile water, it can be used for multiple injections from the same vial because the bacteriostatic agent inhibits bacterial growth.
